Abstract

The current study reports the first-time record of flower cardinalfish Ostorhinchus fleurieu Lacepède, 1802 (Kurtiformes: Apogonidae) from the northern part of the east coast of India. One specimen was collected from Petuaghat fish landing centre, West Bengal, while routine sampling for trash fishes collection. The details of morphometric measurements, meristic counts, and distribution are discussed in this paper.
