Abstract

Altogether, 87 species belonging to 52 genera, 22 tribes and 5 subfamilies of family Scarabaeidae are reported from the state of Manipur, in North-east biogeographic zone of India. Catharsius molossus (Linnaeus), Paragymnopleurus melanarius (Harold), Digitonthophagus bonasus (Fabricius), Onthophagus (Colobonthophagus) ramosus (Wiedemann), O. (Micronthophagus) hystrix Boucomont [Scarabaeinae], Anomala dussumieri Blanchard [Rutelinae], Alissonotum crassum Arrow and Heteronychus lioderes Redtenbacher [Dynastinae] are new records from Manipur.
