Abstract

One new species, Tetranychus caricae sp. nov., is described from specimens collected on leaves of Ficus carica L. (Moraceae) in Kamarpukur, Hooghly, West Bengal, India. Also, one tetranychid species Oligonychus sapienticolus Gupta, 1976 collected on leaves of Musa paradisiaca L. is redescribed from the Gangetic Basin of West Bengal, India.
