New record of moths (Lepidoptera) from India

Abstract

In the present manuscript, we report 13 species in six families of moths (Lepidoptera), i.e., Adrapsa ablualis Walker, 1859 (Noctuidae); Corgatha tornalis Wileman, 1915; Eugoa brunnea Hampson, 1914; Fossia melandra (Černý, 2009); Miltochrista roseogrisea (Rothschild, 1913); Spilosoma howqua Moore, 1877; Oreta loochooana Swinhoe, 1902; Oruza crocodeta (Turner, 1903) (Erebidae); Pingasa chloroides Galsworthy, 1998; Spaniocentra kuniyukii Yazaki, 1994; Syllepta maculalis Leech, 1889 (Crambidae); Theretra rhesus (Boisduval, 1875) (Sphingidae); Xenochroa fulvescens (Warren, 1912) (Nolidae) for the first time from India. All the 13 species are collected from Valmiki Tiger Reserve, Bihar.
