Abstract

The genus Nomia is distributed from Africa to Southeast Asia. There are 20 species of Nomia reported so far from India, in that initially five species of Nomia reported from the Indian Himalayan region and four species of Nomia reported from Uttarakhand. Two known species, i.e., Nomia crassipes (Fabricius, 1789) and Nomia iridescens Smith, 1857 are newly recorded from Uttarakhand (Indian Himalayas) for the first time. This study is showing results for the new distribution range for these two species as well as a new addition in the bees of Uttarakhand.
