The present study provides a description of two ciliated protists from India, namely Uroleptus (Caudiholosticha) stueberi (Foissner, 1987) Li et al., 2017 and Climacostomum virens (Ehrenberg, 1838) Stein, 1859. Uroleptus (Caudiholosticha) stueberi was isolated from a soil sample collected from a coffee field in Punjab, while Climacostomum virens was isolated from a water sample collected from Pong Dam Lake in Himachal Pradesh. The details of the species are presented based on live observations and silver impregnation.
